August 11 Event Information

With the ineptness of H.W.W.U.S.’s Protection Squads and the retreat tactics of the Cult of H.W.W.U.S. the major military forces of the Blighted have been pushed back and held at Champion’s Hall. The Blighted’s secret weapon, the Lich, appears to only have powers for parade and affirmation of self importance. This weapon has proven ineffectual in the acquisition of land for the Blighted.

The noblemen of West March have found the reprieve from serious physical confrontation a blessing as retaining the lands of West March is difficult from within their walls.

The Merchants of King’s Rest too have enjoyed a holiday from sales and profits as fear of activity has kept patrons off the streets of King’s Rest.

Brannhiem meanwhile has never seen so much activity. The soothing comfort of safe spaces for those plagued by the fear of possible combat, if all others fail, has proven a most lucrative commodity.

Hammers Hold and its people have enjoyed complete safety, and inactivity simply because they are too far away and it would require far to much effort to walk there.

Of course, we the Devils of Old Tickle town find this all quite amusing. For if the Blighted should prove to have a plan or the people of the Wood a backbone. Well then, the other side will simply give us a soul so we can take care of their problems for them. For this reason our usefulness far outweighs our actions of blatant murder.

This is the current atmosphere of the Myth Wood from the prospective of the Devils. But what do the Blighted have planned next? Will the people of the Wood be strong enough to continue to hold them back? Who will receive the next blessing of the Six? We will find out on August 11th.

Set up and breakfast starts at 8:00. Checkin starts at 10:00 a.m. We will have lunch at the end of the first scenario. Burgers and hot dogs will be provided. Feel free to bring a food dish to share.

Things to make sure you bring; water, bug spray, sunscreen, and a belt. Also we strongly encourage everyone to get a full nights sleep before the event as the heat and activity can be very exhausting.

June 2018 Event Summary and Myth Times Vol 1

Vitler Jazz Hands

Alright everyone, first as always, thank you guys for being a part of all this. Without the people of the Myth Wood, there would be no Myth Wood. With that in mind, we have updated the Map, and the Political Map. Also thanks to all the wonderful photographers in the Wood we have a bunch of new Pictures of the June event. Finally, the Gnomes of the Myth Wood have taken it upon themselves to create a Myth Wood Newspaper. “Myth Times” Enjoy!.

May Stats and Levels

Almost there!   Just a couple more days, and I finally have the stats from May ready to go.   The ties in Rank mean that everyone there all got the exact same number of kills. Everyone on the other list leveled up and their new level is listed. Congrats!

We walked through the woods and things are drying up but it’s still pretty muddy and some roads are completely blocked with water.   Bring shoes that you don’t mind getting muddy.  Bug spray, sunscreen, water, and food to share for lunch.   Once again remember a Belt!

See you Saturday.

Bad Decision Making Skills – Story

I hope everyone is ready for Saturday.  The Myth Wood had some serious rainstorms recently and the water is up.  Please make sure you have proper footwear, a belt, bug spray, beverages, and something to share for lunch.

We have one last story for everyone to read.  If you have been wondering about the Four Devils you should read She’ol and the Devils and then this new one.

She’ol and the Devils Story

I sat down to do some research, in my office in the Mage’s Tower, the other day and discovered that a manuscript had appeared on it.  I find it interesting the information that magically appear on my desk.  This is the first I have seen this particular story and thought that it may be useful for understanding the history of some current events in our Wood.

May Photos and Map Update

2018 – May Event

We are slowly pulling together things from last Saturday’s event.

First, a big thanks to Kieran (Tanner) and Tilbury(Nick) for taking pictures for us.

Second, our political map had some major revisions after the end of the day.  Better start making some plans if you want your lands back!

May Thanks & Recap

Big thank you to everyone who made it out on Saturday. We had a great turn out for our first event with right around 40 people attending. For the Tournament side of the day we had Bobby Milliman come in first in the Trial of the Sword. He won Farien’Gar for this year. Matt Kolecki. came in first at the Trial of the Locks and won Farien’Row for this year. Hunter Drummond came in first place for the Trial of the spell. He will have Fairen’Eld for this year. Congratulations guys.

Now for the storied events of the day. .

A dark time has come over the Myth Wood. The plague that ran rampant throughout the winter has now manifested in the form of the Blighted. People appeared who look just like former Einherjar of the Wood but with different names, mannerisms, and skills. They are lead by two generals, Inquisitor Ursula and Swert P.S. Constantine. These two answer to a mysterious figure known as He Who Walks UnSeen. They have made many attempts to take land and corrupt the people of the Wood to their ideology. By the end of the day He Who Walks UnSeen has taken control of King’s Rest, the Champion’s Hall and Old Tickle Town. Though the Gnome settlement in Old Tickle Town is not pleased it has bowed to the power of the Blighted and now works for them. Also of note two, of the Relics of the Wood have been won by the Blighted in fair trial at the tournaments.

If that was not bad enough. In a fit of bad judgment, alcohol may have been involved, Bernie with the support of Jarl Elric took the Blue Skull to each of the Three Smiths. With an additional magical item Bernie had found, the Smiths forged the skull into a cube. The plan was that it would help control the Revenant who is a plague creature of limitless lives that had been killing the people of the Wood. The results were not as planned. Bernie, Morgan Daniels, Jarl Elric, and the Revenant were joined together by an inseparable bond made from the being in the cube. Bernie, Morgan Daniels, and Jarl Elric took on monstrous forms. While the Revenant seemed to become a bit more human. All four were filled with the Revenant’s murderous impulses and proceeded to kill anyone they came across.

In a foolish attempt to get answers the Einherjar of the Wood joined forces with the Blighted. They captured one of the Four and imprisoned it in Brannhiem.
The Four laid waste to the town and all that were in it.
The heroes of West March manned the walls of Gray Arrow and held it safe from all threats. As did Faolin and his warriors for Hammers Hold.
The stranger Nastra, who as it turns out is a nephew of Marta’s, defended the Mage Tower in his Aunties absence and kept it safe for her.

In short is was a wonderful day. Thank you all so much, I look forward to seeing everyone again on the 23rd of June.

Start of Year Update & Wear a Belt

The First Myth Wood L.A.R.P event of 2018 is quickly approaching.   The Roads and Bridges crew have been busy with yearly maintenance and updating our Myth Wood Map.  A couple new projects have been started and the cobwebs that appeared over the winter months have been cleaned up.  Brother Arcadia spent some time making some changes to our Handbook  and book of Magic.

Last year we introduce the Armor Point/Magic counters, this year we have new belt pouches!   What this means is that EVERYBODY NEEDS A BELT or Bandolier!  Just so everyone understands, we are updating the garb requirements to state that everyone needs a belt or some way of wearing both the Armor Point counter and the Belt Pouch.   We will no longer use carabiners to carry the pouches.  We cannot provide everyone with a belt so you must bring your own.

Also, here are a few stories to read to get a glimpse into what the skulls have been up to:

Ordo and Abyssal and Lady Myth

June 2017 Rankings & Experience

I have the experience points calculated and the rankings complete.  With the massive use of the Soul Union spell it was a bit more complicated than usual but I figured it out.  Here are the rankings based on kill count  only and a list of all the characters who leveled up.   We had over 50% of all the characters who were in the Wood that day level up!  Congrats to all.   If you are interested in your personal experience points shoot me a message and I will look it up for you.
